Growing the Seeds: How to Continue Revival

I just returned home from an impromptu trip to Asbury with some of the younger folks from our church. Would you believe me if I told you they called me old!?

The spirit of God is so sweet in that place. It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced before, including Church Camp week, which always brings forth an amazing move of God! I want to share the testimonies I heard, but I felt like God had something else He wanted me to share tonight.

After getting my kiddos home, I sat down to do my Bible study for the day. We left immediately after church this morning to travel to Asbury so we could just experience it, so I’m a little behind. As I’m reading through Mark, I come to the Parable of the Sower and The Sower’s Seed. Most of us know the Parable (Mark 4) but here’s a quick recap: seed (the Gospel) that is sewn in the wayside don’t receive the word of God. Seed sewn on stony ground hear the word and receive it with gladness, but they don’t allow it to take root. Seed that is sewn amongst thorns gets “choked” out by all of the lusts the world has to offer. Seed that is sewn on good ground transforms the life of the seed. It grows and it bears fruit.

As we continue to experience the revival that is sweeping the state and nation, we need to be vigilant about our growing seed! Mark 4:26-29 says “And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; and should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.” Until God calls His harvest home, we must work, day and night, to grow these seeds! There are lives being changed, souls being saved, chains of bondage being broken. But, it can’t stop there! True revival will grow these new seeds and help them bear fruit. Nation sweeping revival will come when we send the fruit from these new seeds out into the world, in the uttermost parts, to share how their lives were transformed by our amazing God.

It isn’t enough to just experience the revival. It isn’t enough to share it on social media. It isn’t enough to just talk about it. To truly fan the flames of this revival, we must work diligently to grow the Kingdom of God and share it far and wide!

My friends, God is calling us to soften our hearts. Receive His word on good ground. Fan the flames of this revival and grow these seeds until He is ready to harvest the fruit!
